CONSUL GENERAL AND MRS. FERRER, PH CONSULATE OFFICIALS RIDE THE FILIPINO CHRISTMAS-THEMED SAN FRANCISCO CABLE CAR

Soaking in the holiday spirit, Consul General Neil Ferrer and Madame Miriam Ferrer hopped on Cable Car No. 17—the Filipino Christmas-themed cable car of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA)—on 19 December 2023. Consul General and Madame Ferrer were joined by Consul Jed Llona, Consul Vanessa Bago-Llona, Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil, and Vice Consul Adrian Baccay.

The ride along the Powell Street-Fisherman’s Wharf line was driven by Celso Abueg, a Filipino cable car gripman for the SFMTA for the last 24 years.

Consul General Ferrer previously thanked the SFMTA for their initiative to promote Filipino Christmas traditions in San Francisco, and lauded the Filipino American Arts Exposition and the Fil-Am Community in the Bay Area for the bayanihan spirit that they have shown to complete the project.

Cable Car No. 17 will ply the Powell Street/Market Street-Fisherman’s Wharf route (via Bay/Taylor Streets, and Hyde/Beach Streets) until the first week of January 2024. (San Francisco PCG photos)
