Reno, Nevada – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted its 7th consular outreach for the year from 17 to 18 October 2026 in Reno, Nevada. Following consular outreach missions in parts of northern California, such as Fresno, Monterey and Salinas, and Elk Grove, and other states under its jurisdiction such as Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah, a Consular team traveled to Reno to bring Consular services closer to the Filipino community in Northern Nevada and nearby areas. The team delivered almost 250 consular services to Filipinos and Filipino Americans who availed of passport, dual citizenship, civil registry, notarial, and overseas voter registration services. The Consulate representatives also provided briefings to members of the Filipino community regarding Consulate services and programs, including the benefits of and processes for dual citizenship, the Expanded Centenarian Benefits Act, Overseas Voting Registration for the 2028 Presidential Elections, Civil Registry procedures, Monthly Free Legal Aid Clinic, and the Very Important Pinoy Tour 2027.

The Filipino American Alliance of Nevada (FAAN) served as the Consulate’s partner during the outreach mission, providing volunteers for crowd management, appointment verification, and preliminary documentary screening. More than 25 FAAN Volunteers assisted the Consulate in ensuring a smooth and efficient service to kababayans in the area.

Among the 48 individuals, who applied for the reacquisition or retention of their Filipino citizenship under RA 9225, was a 99-year old lady who expressed joy and gratitude as she was also able to apply for her Philippine passport after taking her oath as a dual citizen. Feedback forms accomplished by the clients during the two-day outreach generally relayed appreciation to the Consulate for bringing services closer to them, eliminating the need to make the long drive to San Francisco. Many also praised the efficient, friendly and professional service received from the Consulate team, as well as from the volunteers of FAAN. The consular outreach mission is part of the Consulate’s commitment to continue bringing efficient and accessible government services to Filipino communities across its consular jurisdiction.END
