Philippine Consulate General Strengthens Economic Partnership with Union City
Philippine and Union City officials hold an executive roundtable to discuss opportunities for collaboration in trade, investment, advanced manufacturing, workforce development, and innovation.

UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco met with Union City officials and business leaders on 30 July 2026 to explore new areas of economic cooperation and community partnership. Hosted by the City of Union City and the Union City Chamber of Commerce, the engagement included an executive roundtable and a luncheon with local business representatives and members of the Filipino American community. Union City shared updates on its economic landscape, noting its strategic location, diverse talent pool, and strong industry base in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, robotics, life sciences, logistics, and other technology‑driven sectors. Both sides discussed opportunities to expand business matching and supply‑chain collaboration, especially in advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies.

The meeting also touched on broader initiatives involving the Philippines, including efforts to strengthen its role in global manufacturing supply chains and its participation in the Pax Silica initiative. PTIC‑SV highlighted existing Philippines–United States industrial partnerships—such as Amber Kinetics and Suba Technology, Inc.—as examples of the growing potential for collaboration in manufacturing and innovation.

Participants further discussed topics such as financial literacy and reintegration programs for overseas Filipinos, workforce development, educational exchanges, and continued engagement with Union City’s Filipino American community. Both sides expressed commitment to building long‑term, mutually beneficial partnerships. END
