Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil and Economic Assistant Danica Vismonte represented the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco at the Policy Forum: Cultivating Resilience in the Age of AI, held as part of the Resilience Forum hosted by the Estonian League of the West Coast at the Grand Hyatt Union Square in San Francisco on 26 June 2026.
The forum featured a keynote address by Dr. Kristina Kallas, Estonia’s Minister of Education and Research, titled “Redefining Education: Harnessing AI for Cognitive Growth.” Minister Kallas underscored the importance of reimagining education systems to prepare learners for an AI-driven future by strengthening critical thinking, digital literacy, adaptability, and lifelong learning.
The Consulate also attended the panel discussion “Information Integrity in the Age of Agentic AI,” which brought together experts from Estonia, Ukraine, NATO, and the European Union to discuss strategies for strengthening democratic resilience against AI-enabled disinformation, information manipulation, and cognitive warfare. Panelists emphasized the importance of proactive policymaking, digital literacy across all age groups, and international cooperation in safeguarding information integrity.
The Consulate’s participation reflects its continued efforts to monitor global developments in AI governance, education, and digital resilience and identify international best practices relevant to the Philippines. (San Francisco PCG photos)
