PH Consulate in San Francisco Engages Riot Games Analyst Joel Dayrit on Gaming and eSports Opportunities

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, together with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Silicon Valley (PTIC-SV), welcomed Mr. Joel Dayrit, Filipino Insights Analyst at Riot Games, during a courtesy call on 13 March 2026 to discuss opportunities for the Philippines in the global gaming and eSports industry.

On the sidelines of the Game Developers Conference (GDC), a Filipino-focused gaming community mixer was held on 12 March 2026 at the Kalayaan Hall, which brought together developers and industry professionals. The event featured Filipino talent and drew strong participation, reflecting growing interest within the Filipino gaming community.

Riot Games, the developer of globally popular titles such as League of Legends and Valorant, remains a leading player in the global eSports industry, with major tournaments drawing millions of viewers worldwide. The continued growth of the sector presents opportunities for emerging markets, including the Philippines, to expand their presence in competitive gaming.

The Consulate and PTIC-SV reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote Filipino talent, encourage industry partnerships, and strengthen the Philippines’ participation in the global digital economy. END
