Philippine Consulate Welcomes Philippine Airlines’ New Regional Head for U.S. and Canada

 

Consulate officials led by Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil (third from left), together with Consul Marc Theodore Benigno (second from left), Trade Commissioner Anne Marie Kristine Umali (rightmost), and Vice Consul Glaiza Quarteros (leftmost), welcomed Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) new Regional Head for the United States and Canada, Mr. Jose Maria Alvarado (third from right), during a courtesy call at the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco on 26 February 2026. Ms. Dell Merano, PAL San Francisco Sales Office Area Manager (second from right), also joined the meeting.

Discussions highlighted PAL’s 85th anniversary, ongoing fleet modernization, and the continued expansion of its U.S. operations, including additional Los Angeles flights and upgraded aircraft to enhance passenger experience. The parties also exchanged views on North America marketing initiatives, diaspora engagement, and possible collaboration on cultural and diplomatic activities in line with the 80th anniversary of Philippines-United States diplomatic relations.

The Consulate reaffirmed its support for the Philippines’ flag carrier and welcomed continued coordination to further enhance connectivity and deepen people-to-people ties between the Philippines and the United States. (San Francisco PCG photos)
