PCG San Francisco Supports Cultural Diversity Showcased by Kazakhstan’s Turan Ethno-Folk Ensemble

(San Francisco, CA) – Upon the invitation of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco represented by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes attended the special performance of the Turan Ethno-Folk Ensemble, a renowned Kazakh folk music group, at the Koret Auditorium of the San Francisco Public Library on 19 February 2026.

Recognized internationally as cultural ambassadors of Turkic heritage, the Turan Ensemble has made performances worldwide and is celebrated for bringing centuries-old musical traditions to life through masterful performances using traditional instruments. Deputy Consul General Cortes joined other dignitaries in congratulating Consul General Nazira Nurbayeva of Kazakhstan on the success of the event and thanked her for the opportunity to witness the unique performance that illustrates music’s ability to unite diverse peoples, transcending differences in language and culture.END
