San Francisco, CA – A delegation of entrepreneurs from the Philippines paid a courtesy call on Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer on 31 July 2025 at the Philippine Center. The group was organized by Mr. Carlo Calimon, Director of StartUp Village, a leading Philippine startup incubator and accelerator. The call is part of the group’s activities in Silicon Valley.
The delegation included Joanna Sylvia Chong, Department of Information Systems and Computer Science of the Ateneo de Manila University; Jevelme Frago, JAF Digital Group Inc.; Daniella Guerrero, Program Officer of Ateneo Intellectual Property Office, Ateneo de Manila University; Lainie Ramoso and Kirck Matthew Laurie Ramoso, Faxcable Inc.; and Sherwin Lavestre Yap, KaiZen Robotics Corporation.
Consul General Ferrer was joined by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes, Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil, PTIC-San Francisco Trade Commissioner Anne Marie Kristine Umali, Economic Assistant Ms. Cristine Cia Clasara-Steylaerts, and PTIC-SV Trade Assistant Ms. Rosalie Say.
During the meeting, delegates shared key insights from their respective business ventures and discussed takeaways from their U.S. trip. The discussion also touched on emerging trends and potential business opportunities in the United States. Consulate officials noted the growing interest among U.S. firms to explore opportunities in the Philippines, especially in advanced manufacturing, healthcare and data center development.
