Walnut Creek, California – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz G. Cortes and Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil successfully conducted an information session on consular services for members of the Filipino American Club of Rossmoor on 11 June 2025.

Held in Rossmoor, a pioneering active adult community in Walnut Creek, the event drew over 50 Filipino-American seniors eager to learn more about the Consulate’s services. The session highlighted key programs, including updates on the expanded centenarian benefits available to overseas Filipinos.

The gathering was organized in cooperation with the Filipino American Club of Rossmoor, led by Ms. Thelma King Estrada and supported by Ms. Julie Zarate Hudson. With over 200 active clubs and organizations, Rossmoor continues to be a vital hub for engaged senior citizens in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In light of the proximity of the event to Philippine Independence Day, the Consulate’s representatives also shared a brief history of the national celebration. Attendees also received updates on initiatives by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center – Silicon Valley (PTIC-SV) and the Philippine Department of Tourism – San Francisco (PDOT-SF).

The session concluded with an invitation for attendees to participate in the Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour, a flagship initiative that encourages overseas Filipinos to reconnect with the homeland through cultural and historical experiences.

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco thanks the Filipino-American community of Rossmoor for their warm hospitality and remains committed to bringing consular and community services closer to Filipino-Americans throughout its jurisdiction. END
