In line with its commitment to bring public service closer to the community, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted an information session on the Expanded Centenarian Act, dual citizenship, and consular services—reflecting its ongoing efforts to reach the public it serves and to better respond to the evolving needs of elderly Filipinos in the United States.

San Francisco, 10 June 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, in partnership with the Canon Kip Senior Center, conducted an information session on the Expanded Centenarian Act, dual citizenship, and other consular services on Friday, 6 June 2025, at the Canon Kip Senior Center in San Francisco.

The session, led by Vice Consul Hannah Go, brought together elderly Filipino community members eager to learn more about their rights and entitlements as Filipino citizens. The discussion highlighted updates on the Expanded Centenarian Act, which now provides recognition and monetary benefits to Filipinos at age 80, 85, 90, 95, and 100, as well as practical guidance on the benefits and application process for dual citizenship under Republic Act No. 9225. Other consular services relevant to senior citizens were also covered.

To support continued outreach, the Consulate distributed application forms and informational materials to attendees and to the Canon Kip Senior Center for the benefit of other elderly community members.

Through initiatives like this, the Consulate aims to empower elderly Filipinos and their families with accessible, timely, and relevant information, enabling them to make informed decisions about their legal status and connection to the Philippines. The event reflects the Consulate’s commitment to inclusive service and to uplifting the well-being of Filipino nationals across its jurisdiction. END
