Consul General Ferrer Meets with Tigard City Council Officials

CONSUL GENERAL FERRER MEETS WITH TIGARD CITY COUNCIL OFFICIALS

Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer discusses possible areas of cooperation with Tigard City Council officials.

Tigard, Oregon – On 15 May 2025, Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer paid a courtesy call on Tigard City Council President Maureen Wolf, ahead of the Consulate’s 2-day consular outreach mission in Tigard. 

Councilor Yi-Kang Hu and NaFFAA Oregon President Dolores “Dolly” Specht joined Council President Wolf in welcoming Consul General Ferrer who was accompanied by Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes, Philippine Honorary Consul Enrico Tadeo and his wife, Mrs. Vivian Tadeo.

During the meeting, Consul General Ferrer informed the Council officials about the consular outreach mission, an annual activity of the Consulate to bring consular services closer to the Filipino and Filipino-American community in Oregon. 

Underscoring the Consulate’s thrust to promote economic and people-to-people relations with the Philippines, Consul General Ferrer expressed interest in connecting with entities in Oregon, as well as the possibility of having a sister-city agreement between Tigard and a city in the Philippines.

The city council officials welcomed the visit and expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the Consulate to reach its stakeholders in Oregon, particularly in Tigard, which has been the venue of the consular outreach for the past four years. END

Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer is welcomed by Tigard City Council President Maureen Wolf and Councilor Yi-Kang Hu, and are joined by NaFFAA Oregon President Dolly Specht, Deputy Consul General Maria Paz Cortes, PHL Honorary Consul Enrico Tadeo and Mrs. Vivian Tadeo.
