PH CONSULATE, TRADE & TOURISM OFFICES BRING PIECE OF THE PHILIPPINES TO HAYWARD TWIN OAKS MONTESSORI STUDENTS

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, the Philippine Trade & Investment Center (PTIC) in Silicon Valley, and the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) Office in San Francisco visited Hayward Twin Oaks Montessori School in Hayward, California on 29 April 2025 for the school’s Filipino Cultural Day—an initiative of the school’s math and science teacher, Filipino national Victoria Bernales.
The Consulate’s representatives delivered talks on the Philippines—including a lecture on basic facts about the Philippines and Filipinos, a virtual tour of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao courtesy of DOT San Francisco, and a familiarization of Philippine-made products available in the United States by PTIC Silicon Valley.
The Consulate commended and thanked Ms. Bernales for her initiative to immerse her students in Filipino heritage and culture. Alameda County, where Hayward is located, is home to around 113,500 Filipinos and Filipino Americans according to U.S. Census data. (San Francisco PCG photos)
