UP’s ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM ENGAGES UC BERKELEY ON PH AI RESEARCH

Dr. Eugene Rex L. Jalao of UP Diliman and the Philippine Consulate engaged with Dr. Matthew Sherburne, Assistant Dean and International Partnerships College of Engineering, The Dado and Maria Banatao Center for Global Learning and Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE) on 19 March 2025, at the Hearst Mining Building, UC Berkeley
During the meeting, Dr. Jalao, discussed the proposed creation of the PH AI Center in UP Diliman. The two sides also discussed possible academic collaborations aimed at capacity building in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Dado and Maria Banatao Center for Global Learning and Outreach from Berkeley Engineering (GLOBE) was founded in 2005 and has helped College of Engineering departments, centers, and units engage with international partners. The Center also assisted in the creation of the Philippine-California Advanced Research Institutes (PCARI).
