SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer convened a planning meeting with officers of the Consulate and partner government agencies on 28 January 2025. The participants presented their sections’ accomplishments from the previous year, and outlined their work plan, proposed activities, and priorities for 2025.

The planning meeting was attended by all officers of the Consulate, the Philippine Department of Tourism-San Francisco,  the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Silicon Valley, and the Philippine Center Management Board.

In his opening remarks, Consul General Ferrer highlighted the Consulate’s various activities and achievements in 2024, and shared prospects for 2025 in relation to developments at the national and local levels.

In 2024, the Consulate provided more than 38,900 consular services. It conducted 14 consular outreach missions to Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington state, and registered 8,299 new overseas voters for the 2025 Philippine National Elections.

To further streamline its frontline services, the Consulate launched and utilized new technology tools such as an Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot that answers questions on consular and other services on the Consulate’s website, the new appointment site that enables clients to easily book and manage appointments, and the NFC posters at the Consular Section that provide information or instructions on services using a single tap.
