Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Neil Frank Ferrer paid a courtesy call on Kodiak Mayor Pat Branson at the Kodiak City Hall on 24 September 2024, at the sidelines of the consular outreach program of the Philippine Consulate General in the city.

During the meeting, both sides discussed possible areas for cooperation and engagements, particularly on renewable energy. The two officials also discussed the vibrant Filipino American community in the city.

There are 3,142 Filipinos and Filipino Americans living in Kodiak, according to the American Community Survey, which represents 24-25% of residents in the Kodiak Island Borough. END
