SFPCG JOINS OUR SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco joined the event ”Our Sentimental Journey: A Celebration of Filipino American History Month” with The Alvarado Project at the historic Presidio Tunnel Tops in San Francisco last 05 October . The event commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Leyte Gulf, highlighting the sacrifices of Filipino, American, and Allied soldiers and civilians, as well as the contributions of first-generation Filipino immigrants, seen through the work of photographer Ricardo Ocreto Alvarado.

The event was also attended by Daly City Mayor Juslyn Manalo and San Francisco Supervisor Catherine Stefani, with Vice Consul Go delivering a speech on behalf of the Philippine Consulate.

The Alvarado Project (TAP), founded in 1998 and led by Executive Director Janet Alvarado, is a non-profit, community-based organization of artists, students, and educators. TAP’s mission is to promote multicultural understanding and strengthen communities through art, cultural programs, and the preservation of historically significant materials related to the Filipino-American experience.
