Consul General Ferrer and Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy Discuss Ways to Advance Philippines-Alaska Relations

CONSUL GENERAL FERRER AND ALASKA GOVERNOR MIKE DUNLEAVY DISCUSS WAYS TO ADVANCE PHILIPPINES-ALASKA RELATIONS

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Philippine Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer met with Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy at the Governor’s Office in the Robert B. Atwood Building on 21 September 2024.

Consul General Ferrer shared his insights on the issues facing the Philippines as a maritime and archipelagic nation to Governor Dunleavy, and developments in the Philippines – United States relations.

Consul General Ferrer thanked the Governor for his leadership and for making the state of Alaska a welcoming community for thousands of Filipinos and Filipino Americans. Governor Dunleavy expressed his gratitude for the Filipino and Filipino American communities, especially the teachers and nurses, that had made significant contributions to the state of Alaska.

Both sides expressed intent to enhance trade and economic relations, including with respect to oil and gas, as well as in learning from the best practices of Alaska in harnessing renewable energy. END
