PH CONSULATE IN SAN FRANCISCO DELIVERS 1,451 SERVICES TO FILIPINOS IN BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON IN A 5-DAY CONSULAR OUTREACH

BELLEVUE, WASHINGTON, USA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted a consular outreach in Bellevue, Washington at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Seattle-Bellevue from 24 to 28 August 2024.

Led by Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer and Vice Consul Hannah Go, the consular outreach afforded Filipinos and Filipino Americans passport, dual citizenship, and overseas voting registration services without having to travel to San Francisco.

A total of 1,451 services were provided–including 443 passport applications, 565 dual citizenship petitions, and 417 overseas voting registrations.

During the outreach, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division (DOL-WHD) Office  and Ms. Macy Monique Maglanque, Labor Attaché and Head of Migrant Workers Office – Los Angeles were also present to provide information and guidance on various work and labor concerns of Filipino workers in the area.

Director Soleil Tropicales and Ms. Stephanie Hermoso of the Philippine Department of Tourism Office in San Francisco participated in the outreach to provide information on tourism to the Philippines, including the forthcoming launch of direct flights from Seattle to Manila via Philippine Airlines.

The event was strongly supported by various Filipino organizations such as FILAM React, AFEW, FCC PNW, Colors & Blooms, Seattle Mabuhay Lions Club, COFAO, Dr. Jose Rizal Parks & Bridge Foundation, FACPS Algona, and IDIC, who were lead by Mrs. Ellen Abellera and Mr. Eddie Abellera.

The Department of Tourism, led by Philippine Department of Tourism Office Director Soleil Tropicales and Stephanie Hermoso also participated in the outreach. DOT provided outreach participants with information on Philippine tourism and the upcoming inaugural Manila-Seattle flights.

Ms. Macy Monique Maglanque, Labor Attaché and Head of Migrant Workers Office – Los Angeles was also present to provide information on MWO programs and services discussed included labor case management, repatriation assistance, capacity building, and welfare assistance.

Consular clients were also treated to Filipino trivia games, which garnered enthusiastic participation from 2nd and 3rd generation Fil-Ams who surprisingly bested their parents. Winners were given “Love the Philippines” shirts from the Department of Tourism.
