International Dinner Fetes Vallejo’s Sister Cities, Including PH City Baguio

INTERNATIONAL DINNER FETES VALLEJO’S SISTER CITIES, INCLUDING PH CITY BAGUIO

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, represented by Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, attended the 18th Annual International Dinner and Auction of the Vallejo Sister City Association at the Filipino Community Center of Solano County in Vallejo, California on 24 August 2024.

The International Dinner, which was held for the second consecutive year at the Filipino Community Center, served as a fundraising event for the “citizen diplomacy” initiatives of the Vallejo Sister City Association. The group’s newly installed President is Fil-Am Norma Placido, who gave the welcome remarks.

In his message, Vice Consul Baccay cited the recent presentation of a California State Assembly resolution proclaiming October 2024 as “Filipino American History Month” in California, during which the Consulate expressed its appreciation to Fil-Am Communities in the state for nurturing direct people-to-people linkages through sister city cooperation. Vallejo currently has sister city ties with Baguio, established in 1993. (San Francisco PCG photos)
