COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco returned to Colorado for its eighth consular outreach of the year, held at Hyatt Place Colorado Springs/Garden of the Gods on 13-14 July 2024.

Passport, dual citizenship, and overseas voter (OV) registration services were offered during the Consulate’s consular outreach in Colorado Springs.

In a statement, Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer said that the consular outreach in Colorado Springs “aligns with the Consulate’s mandate to render effective consular services to Filipinos in Rocky Mountains states under the Consulate’s jurisdiction.”

The Consulate’s ten-member team, led by Vice Consul Adrian Baccay, provided a total of 489 consular services to Filipinos in Colorado, as well as the neighboring states of Wyoming and South Dakota. Philippine Honorary Consul in Denver, Colorado Donna LaVigne also took part in the consular outreach.

The Consulate partnered with a group of Filipino Community organizations in Colorado—namely the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) Rocky Mountains Region and Colorado Chapter, the Filipino American Community of Southern Colorado (FACSC), the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Southern Colorado (PACCSoCo), the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Colorado (FACCCO), and the Filipino American Community of Colorado (FACC)—for the conduct of the consular outreach.

As part of promoting Filipino-owned local businesses, Filipino food trucks RJ Foodies & Catering Services and the Filipino Food Truck were parked outside the venue during the two-day consular outreach, selling Filipino fare to Filipinos and Americans alike.

Also on the sides of the consular outreach, Vice Consul Baccay and Honorary Consul LaVigne visited George Fellows Park, the future site of a six-foot bronze statue of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Rizal by Colorado-based Filipino American sculptor Atty. Elaine Antonio Bordeaux, who just wrapped up her week-long art exhibit at the Philippine Center in San Francisco.

For the schedule of the remaining consular outreaches for 2024, the public is requested to visit the Consulate’s official website. END
