CONSUL GENERAL FERRER RECEIVES PH CYBERSECURITY OFFICIALS
SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Philippine Consul General Neil Ferrer welcomed cybersecurity officials from the Philippines’ Department of Budget and Management (DBM) who were attending the RSA Conference in San Francisco on 7 May 2024. The RSA Conference is a leading international cybersecurity conference.
DBM’s Chief of Infrastructure and Management Division Ma. Salvacion Axalan, OIC Chief of Information and Security Division Henry Carandang, Systems Administrator Ronald Andal, and Christian Mark Guingcangco of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, met with Consul General Ferrer at Sentro Rizal of the Philippine Center in San Francisco.
“We thank the DBM for affording us the opportunity to discuss cybersecurity with its officials, drawing insights from the RSA Conference, and advocating for government cybersecurity in the nation’s best interests,” Consul General Ferrer said.
In April, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. issued Executive Order No. 58 mandating government agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations to implement the National Cybersecurity Plan for 2023 to 2028, which serves as a comprehensive guide for the Philippines’ cybersecurity efforts.
Consul Vanessa Bago-Llona and Consul Rowena Pangilinan-Daquipil also joined the meeting. END
