PH CONSULATE IN SF RECEIVES “ENDURING PARTNER AWARD” AT THE 30TH PISTAHAN FESTIVAL GALA
As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Pistahan Parade and Festival, the Filipino American Arts Exposition (FAAE) hosted a gala event for the Filipino American Community in the Bay Area at the Ohana lounge of Salesforce Tower in San Francisco on 14 July 2023.
Deputy Consul General and Acting Head of Post Raquel Solano received the “Enduring Partner” Award on behalf of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco. The FAAE recognized the Consulate for being a “staunch partner and supporter of the Pistahan for more than two decades… sharing similar goals to ignite Filipino cultural pride and foster community engagement.” The FAAE also cited the Consulate’s support for its other signature events, including the Filipino Heritage Nights with major sports teams, and the annual Filipino American History Month celebration at the San Francisco City Hall.
Held every second weekend of August since 1994, the Pistahan Parade and Festival is one of the largest gatherings of the Filipino American Community in the Bay Area, and is one of the biggest celebrations of Philippine culture and heritage in the United States. The milestone 30th edition of the Pistahan will be held on 12-13 August 2023 in San Francisco. (San Francisco PCG photos)
