SENTRO RIZAL
Pinoy Pop (P-Pop) group and Youth & Sentro Rizal Ambassador SB19 visited Sentro Rizal San Francisco in November 2022.
Sentro Rizal San Francisco is the hub for Philippine culture, history and the arts in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as the other states under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco. It is part of a network of more than 30 Philippine cultural centers worldwide, which were established by the 2009 National Cultural Heritage Act (Republic Act No. 10066) for the “promotion of Philippine arts, culture and language throughout the world.”
Opened in June 2019, Sentro Rizal San Francisco currently houses the Museo ng Lahing Pilipino (Museum of the Filipino People), the Sentro Rizal Library, and Virtual Sentro Rizal.
Among the services that Sentro Rizal San Francisco offers are as follows:
- Conduct of cultural programs, events, and outreach activities featuring Filipino artists from the Philippines and the United States
- Provision of library and information resources of various formats on Philippine culture and the arts, history, and literature
- Assistance in viewing and presentation of films on Philippine culture, history, heritage, and the arts
- Assistance in the cultural programs and events of the Filipino American Community in the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest
- Assistance in providing and sourcing out publications for donation to schools, libraries, and other learning institutions in the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest
