CONSUL GENERAL FERRER JOINS IGLESIA NI CRISTO’S WORLWIDE AID TO HUMANITY FOR SAN FRANCISCO SENIORS
SAN FRANCISCO, USA – Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer led the distribution of care packages for elderly Filipinos and Filipino Americans during the annual Worldwide Aid to Humanity (Lingap sa Mamamayan) Program of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
In his remarks during the gift-giving program at the Pilipino Senior Resource Center (PSRC) in South of Market Area (SOMA), Consul General Ferrer said that the Iglesia ni Cristo’s charitable missions speak of the Filipino value of “malasakit sa kapwa” (compassion for others), which is “a value that is very much needed during these challenging times as the world is still reeling from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“It is my fervent wish that the Iglesia ni Cristo, under the leadership of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, will continue to uplift the lives of the communities you serve, especially the poor, the sick, and the oppressed. May you continue to elevate the profile of the Philippines and of the Filipino American community in northern California through your works of compassion, and celebrate the greatness of Christ by nurturing faith and hope in all of us,” Consul General Ferrer said.
Iglesia Ni Cristo Northwest California District’s Supervising Minister Brother Eduardo Javier, and PSRC Executive Director Gabby Moraleda thanked Consul General Ferrer for his participation during the program. Vice Consul Adrian Audrey L. Baccay and Cultural Officer Ethel May R. Castillo accompanied the Philippine Consul General during the event.
This year’s Worldwide Aid to Humanity Program was held simultaneously in the Philippines and around the world in conjunction with the 66th birthday of Iglesia Ni Cristo Executive Minister Brother Eduardo V. Manalo. Apart from San Francisco, the Iglesia Ni Cristo also held community outreach programs in Antioch and Lathrop in northern California. END
