CONSUL GENERAL FERRER MEETS OREGON’S FIL-AM APPELLATE COURT JUDGE POWERS

Philippine Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer met with Fil-Am Appellate Court Judge Steven Powers on 10 September 2021 at Gonzales & Gonzales Law Office, an immigration law firm owned by Fil-Am Atty. Jeffrey Gonzales. 

Judge Powers has served on the Oregon Court of Appeals since July 2017, when Governor Brown appointed him to the Court.  Previously, he worked as an attorney at a private firm. He also served in various capacities, including as Deputy General Counsel in the Office of the Governor, as a prosecutor in the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office, and as Assistant Attorney General in the Oregon Department of Justice.  

Judge Power, who is also a founding board member of the Oregon Filipino American Lawyers Association (OFALA), expressed his willingness to take part in the Consulate’s activities where he can share his legal knowledge and expertise as resource person, speaker, or lecturer. -END
