Philippine Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer held a meeting with the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon (PACCO) Board members on 8 September 2021 on the side of the Consulate’s outreach mission in Oregon on 8-11 September 2021.

PACCO president Janice Mason welcomed Consul General Ferrer to Oregon and expressed PACCO’s desire to work closely with the Consulate in promoting the interests of Fil-Am businesses in Oregon and the welfare of Filipino-Americans in the state, including through the provision of support services to the consular outreach mission.

Consul General Ferrer thanked the group for their warm welcome and affirmed the Consulate’s desire to collaborate with them in promoting Philippine interests in Oregon.

The meeting discussed PACCO Board’s assistance to the Fil-Am community in Oregon in response to the pandemic, and its role in administering a USD850,000-worth of grant by the state in the form of financial and technical assistance for the community.

PACCO will again administer a grant from Multnomah County under the  Small Business Relief Fund under Multnomah CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Fund, for distribution to small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Fund seeks to provide interim relief to grantees to enable them to continue to operate and retain employees.

The Consul General lauded PACCO for its exemplary work and expressed support for its activities, including assistance in disseminating information about its programs and services that affect Filipinos and Filipino-Americans in Oregon. -END
