PHILIPPINE CONSUL GENERAL IN SAN FRANCISCO MEETS WITH UTAH OFFICIALS

Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer held meetings with officials from the State of Utah, during the Consulate’s consular outreach mission in Salt Lake City on 11 – 14 August 2021.

Consul General Ferrer met with Utah Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson on 11 August 2021 at the Utah State Capitol.  During the meeting, they discussed the active and vibrant Filipino community in Utah, and possibilities for more active and regular engagements to assist the community.

Consul General Neil Frank Ferrer receives a token of appreciation from Utah Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson.

Consul General Ferrer also met with the core members of Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, the first Filipino-American to have been occupied the position of state Attorney General, on 12 August 2021.  Although AG Reyes was then on travel, the members of his team warmly welcomed the Consul General and noted AG Reyes’ pride in his Filipino roots.  During the meeting, they discussed relevant issues that the AG Office have been working on, such as immigration, trafficking, and hate crimes against persons of Asian descent.
