PHILIPPINE CONSUL GENERAL IN SAN FRANCISCO CALLS ON MONTANA GOVERNOR GREG GIANFORTE

Newly arrived Consul General of the Philippines in San Francisco Neil Frank R. Ferrer  called on Montana Governor Greg Gianforte virtually via Zoom on 22 April 2021.

Gov. Gianforte was elected as Montana’s Governor in November 2020 and assumed his position in January 2021.  He previously served at the U.S. House of Representatives representing Montana’s at-large congressional district from 2017 to 2021.  

Gov. Gianforte extended a warm welcome to Consul General Ferrer and looked forward to closer interactions in the future.  Consul General Ferrer expressed hoped that he will be able to visit Montana in the near future to personally meet the Governor and the Filipino community.  They discussed the ongoing COVID vaccination programs, concerns on the recent rise in hate crimes against Asian Americans in the United States, and possible trade and business opportunities between Montana and the Philippines.

Consul General Ferrer remarked during the call that he “looks forwardto an active and vibrant engagement with Gov. Gianforte, and hoped to expand the people-to-people and economic relations between Montana and the Philippines.” / END
