SAN FRANCISCO CITY HALL ILLUMINATED WITH PHILIPPINE NATIONAL COLORS FOR PH INDEPENDENCE DAY

The San Francisco City Hall was lit up with the Philippine national colors of blue, yellow and red on 12 June 2023 in celebration of Philippine Independence Day, and Filipino-American Heritage and Friendship Day in the city. The City Hall lighting was made possible through the San Francisco Mayor’s Protocol Office.

Mayor London Breed signed a proclamation—presented to Philippine Consul General in San Francisco Neil Ferrer following the Philippine flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall on 12 June 2023—declaring June 12 as Filipino-American Heritage and Friendship Day in San Francisco, and congratulated the people of the Philippines on the milestone 125th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence.

“San Francisco has a longstanding history of openness and respect for people of all backgrounds, and today, on the occasion of the Philippine Independence Day we particularly recognize the important contributions made to our city by Filipino-Americans,” Mayor Breed’s proclamation reads.
