1,778 CONSULAR SERVICES PROVIDED TO FIL-AMS IN SEATTLE OUTREACH
SEATTLE, WA – The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco provided a total of 1,778 consular services to Filipinos and Filipino Americans in Washington State during its consular outreach mission on 21-24 July 2021 at the International Drop-In Center (IDIC) on Beacon Hill in Seattle.
A 13-person team led by Consul General Neil Frank R. Ferrer provided the requested services.
A total of 931 Filipinos applied for passports. A total of 369 reacquired their Filipino citizenship under Republic Act 9225, including a home-bound 98-year-old lady who was visited by a small consular team to enable her to take her Oath of Allegiance to the Philippines.
Many have reported their vital events and those of their family, and some had their documents legalized. Individuals who registered for Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) totaled 246.
The consular outreach, held amid the ongoing pandemic, afforded the Filipinos and FilAms the necessary consular services without having to travel to San Francisco.
Fil-Am community leader in Washington Ms. Ellen Abellera and IDIC Board Members, including its president, Ms. Mariela Fletcher, and IDIC Officer-in-Charge Mr. Eddie Abellera, along with several volunteer individuals and organizations, provided valuable support for the conduct of the consular outreach mission.
